Finnish Water Forum has finalized its first UNDP assignment in Central Asia

In Autumn 2022 UNDP in Kyrgyzstan invited FWF to take over the water quality assessment study in Kaji-Say. The project appeared to be especially challenging as there was an exceeding radiation level by alfa particles found in the water supply system. Dealing with a radiation issue, FWF engaged with the Finnish Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority (STUK). Now, after five months and two fruitful site missions, FWF has managed to elaborate on all project deliverables, public hearings and finalized its assignment. There will be an implementation stage following the assessment study, so at FWF we sincerely hope that the local community will be provided with clean and safe-to-drink water thanks to UNDP.
