FWF takes part in an EU-funded LIFE project led by the Ukrainian organization Public Union Centre for Regional Development. The project aims to strengthen Ukraine’s water supply and wastewater treatment systems to meet EU standards, especially in the context of post-war reconstruction. A key aspect is to understand the local challenges of water management and to study the water management practices of other countries, such as Finland and Poland. In addition to studying these practices, the project aims to pilot various technical, financial, and administrative solutions to develop Ukrainian water management to meet European standards. The project started in April 2025 and will last for two years. The project consortium includes actors from Ukraine, Finland, and Poland. The project has been granted a total of EUR 998,390.50 in EU funding.
