
Get the most out of your Nordic IWA World Water Congress 2022 experience with a one-day visit to Finland. At this full-day Finland Technical Tour, you will learn about the best practices and latest innovations of Finnish water sector. The Tour takes place in Helsinki, Finland, on Saturday 10 September 2022. The day programme starts with an inspiring seminar and innovation exhibition with world-class water experts from Finland. After lunch, you will get an introduction to advanced Finnish solutions in the form of site visits to Viikinmäki WWTP, the largest treatment plant in the Nordics. In Viikinmäki WWTP, around 270 000 m3 of wastewater is treated every day, to serve 900,000 residents. The WWTP built inside the bedrock is actively developing new methods for nutrient recovery and energy efficiency. In 2020, Viikinmäki WWTP produced 96 % of its electricity consumption.

Participants are expected to coordinate their travel arrangements to Helsinki independently. What is IWA World Water Congress & Exhibition?
The IWA World Water Congress is a global water sector conference and exhibition, this year taking place in Copenhagen 11 – 15 September 2022. The event hosted by International Water Association, bringing together over 10 000 water professionals from around the world. Finnish water expertise is strongly represented throughout the event together with other Nordic countries.
